Social Media and Sleep Infographic
This infographic is about the effects of social media use on sleep, and what people who use social media regularly can do to prevent it from affecting their sleep. It includes three studies conducted by different groups to observe the effects of smartphone and social media use on human subjects, as well as a list of activities intended to prevent distraction and decrease anxiety and blue light exposure before bed.
I selected this topic because I’ve experienced sleep deprivation as a result of using social media too often and too close to bedtime, often staying up until midnight scrolling through my feeds and sometimes staying up hours after I set the phone down. I think this is an important risk to teach people about, and I hope people can use the methods listed on the sheet to avoid falling into the same nasty cycle I’ve put myself into.
I made the infographic in Adobe Express with pre-made assets, and I’ve provided a download link to the PDF for a full view of the document.
