One such places that fits this for my life specifically is Small Point, Maine. My father’s side of the family has lived there for generations, each passing on their lived experiences to those younger than themselves. On some level, every member of the family has at least in part grown up on that coastline. Everything is held there, from sailing races to birthdays to weddings to even funerals, and the family is so ingrained into this location that even the buildings themselves have names.
