Read then write a post about something that serves this purpose in your family’s life—maybe parents, children, grandkids all know it. What does place & people have to do with culture?
Something in my family that serves a similar purpose to the kissas in the reading is our family’s farm. This has been a staple piece in my life because it created a deep connection to animals, but also exposed me to birth, life, and death at a young age which I think was very beneficial when I was young so that I was able to appreciate life and the connections I have to people more in depth. I also was able to see how hard work pays off through my fathers devotion to the farm. By taking care of our ducks, donkeys, and cattle, my sister and I got to understand the dedication and effort farming takes. To view this on a larger scale however, I take away the fact that life takes dedication and effort to achieve what you want.
Tourist or Photographer thoughts:
- Make a list of changes that would improve you photographs?
- Look at things in a different perspective to capture photos that you wouldn’t expect
- get creative – you have the ability to because the pressure is less on you
- think more in depth, make it less predicable and get more abstract
- utilize the rule or thirds
- utilize reflections and symmetry
- rules are to use for guidelines, but can be broken
Unfortunately I cannot get any new photos from this location or event because it was a one time thing, however, because of this I find myself want to try the new things I learn/listed above and apply them to my next wedding shoot because I only have so many photos I can take during such a limited time for the event.
