This Photo is particularly impactful to me for a variety of reasons. The most immediately striking thing about it to me is the way in which these tiny circuit boards evoke the feeling of a city, like looking down from an airplane as you fly over.
FORM/TECHNIQUE: One technique that I think is particularly effective in this image is leading lines. The composition and strong lines of the circuit boards naturally draw your eyes upward and create the feeling of a vast expanse of boards that continues onward beyond the frame of the photo.
EFFECT: The effect of this image to me is the creation of a sense of scale from extremely small subjects. This is through both the similarity to an overhead view of a city and the leading lines used. This photo asks the question of how many of these intricate boards have just been discarded. How large is the pile?
