I found that during this project I was able to develop a pretty decent story with some good photos. I started by going to the place I wanted to explore and took some pictures. I took the pictures first and then tried to think of a story to tell using the photos. I came up with the idea of a kind of poetry piece that explores the state of environmental concerns, looking at human and industrial impact on ecosystems and the animals in them. Looking back I might have tried to find more fitting photos, because I feel that the content of the story kind of diverges from the photos, or at least there could have been better photos.
One photo I would revise is the photo of the train crossing sign. I used this in the story talking about lawn maintenance, but the picture doesn’t have a lawn in it or anything so maybe not the right photo to have. I was able to use some of the phot techniques we discussed in class, such as framing which I used in a photo of the river that I framed with yellow leaves from a tree nearby. I also liked how symmetrically the photo of the railroad tracks came out. If I had more time I would have taken more photos this weekend or in the next couple of days because there are some geese and ducks in a pond, maybe migrating or something.
