Project 1d – Sophie Shannon

Looking back at my story, I think my favorite part is the candid photos of the guests and the emotions I was able to capture. I liked being able to take pictures of moments that happened naturally instead of being planned. If I had more time and more photos, I would take more pictures of the small details, like the decorations, getting-ready rooms, and the ceremony locations. I would also try using more angles and different ways of taking pictures so the story had more variety.

The most important thing I learned was to pay attention to what is happening around me instead of only focusing on the main subject. As a second photographer, I learned that there are many moments happening that the main photographer might not have time to capture. This is something I can use in wildlife photography too. Two things I liked from other student projects were having a consistent style and using different types of photos, like wide shots, close-ups, and photos from different angles. I think these ideas would make my future projects more interesting and help tell a better story.
