This will be a series of images across various locations in the northeast as well as an explanation of their significance to me.
Location 1: New Hampshire
I grew up in New Hampshire. Born and raised in the same county. Naturally, I feel very connected to the place. I’ve been pretty much everywhere there is to go in New Hampshire with the exception of the far north near Canada, though I hope to change that soon. While the state definitely has its flaws, there’s nowhere else I’d like to have grown up in. Beautiful scenery, not too big, not too underpopulated or overpopulated, and it’s relatively geographically centered in New England, allowing for equally easy access to other New England states. While I may end up living in Maine or Massachusetts, as of now, I hope to live in New Hampshire for the rest of my life.
Location 2: Vermont & Adirondacks
This summer, I traveled to Burlington, Vermont and various locations in the Adirondacks in New York with my parents. I had been to the Adirondacks before, but that was over half my life ago. It was nice to go back. While I am biased in favor of scenery near the ocean, it is still beautiful. As for Vermont, I have some history there. I originally attended the University of Vermont in Burlington. It did not go well for me. My mental and physical health suffered quite a bit. I ended up leaving as a result. I still have good memories of the place though, which is why it’s always nice to visit. This time the focus was more on the nature surrounding the city than the city itself.
Location 3: Acadia National Park
Acadia National Park is the favorite vacation destination of my family. We’ve been going to Mount Desert Island every summer for as long as I can remember. Admittedly, it was a bit nicer when it wasn’t so popular. For example, it used to be possible to just drive to the top of Mt. Cadillac, now you need to make a reservation. Despite this, it’s still well worth it to visit every year. I’ve seen many of the same trails, hiked many of the same mountains, seen many of the same views over and over again, and it never gets old. I believe it’s the most beautiful place in the northeast. I also look forward to visiting Bar Harbor every year. We always walk the sand bar and browse shops.
