- Strategies to help my story:
- Use tinted / heavily de-contrasted images for some of my dividers and text backgrounds. Generally speaking, the more “backdrop”-like the role of the image, the more edited towards that goal it should be.
- Consider mixing in some animated images / videos with my photos if they fit.
- In terms of narrative, make sure that things that are personal / emotional to me are expressed as such, as this is often a strength and not a liability or an embarrassment.
2. Strategies to improve reference story:
- Mix up formatting just a tad (ex: subtly increase weight or spacing) on headings and block quote-style text.
- One notable photo from a particular point in time is seemingly duplicated in different chronological places in the story, which unfortunately hurts the immersion a little there; simply removing it would fix this.
- The videos are unable to loop automatically, which creates an odd disparity between how the page looks immediately upon visiting it and after finishing the story. If there were any way to make them auto-loop, it would probably improve the look of the page.

From partner (Patrick Drosa):
I like the framing of the first photo in the Bangor mall, I think the subject is also very interesting and worth exploring. Maybe you could photograph all the different stores in the mall and the varying conditions they are in. I also really liked the map idea for your other location.
To partner:
I thought that the photographic style, with the more colorful, hard-lit, and slightly more lo-fi look, as well as the content of the photos themselves, really contributed to a more timeless and placeless look which reminded me of the aesthetics I associate with certain photos from the mid-late 20th century
