Overall I’m actually super happy with how my portfolio turned out. I really caught my stride in this last week or so. Before now I was really dreading working on my website but I feel now that I kind of figured out the design theory I wanted for the site I feel like it is a much more cohesive and interesting user experience instead of just being a website to dump all of my work in. I really like how the layout came out, especially after I started adding in lots of gradients. I was kinda afraid to go too heavy into gradients at first but I feel like the more and more gradients I started using the more I felt they fit in with my design theory. My initial idea for the portfolio was to have a super bold and geometric design sort of like an old jazz poster. However, as time went on, I liked my designs less and less but the problem was that I had already spent so much time designing my site that way that I felt stuck in a sunk-cost fallacy. And so I became pretty disinterested in working on the site as a whole and I ended up getting behind on my work. But I can say now, after finally biting the bullet and redesigning my site, that I’m happy with how it looks.
