This graphic shows a shot from “Simpsons” and two presidential candidates at that time. This meme shows that nowadays in politics there are lots of elderly politicians and not that many young people, which makes everyone very concerned. It is a big problem, people need to see new young faces in the political field and new approaches to the problems in the US society.
Because of this dilemma, people started to make memes and lots of people that I know didn’t even want to vote for any of those candidates, because there were the same candidates at 2020 elections, so Americans wanted to see a new face for the 2024 presidential election.

When Kamala Harris became the new presidential candidate for the Democratic party, the Internet got flooded with “Kamala is brat” memes. The trend emerged from the new album of the same name by British pop singer Charli XCX. Brat means “that girl who is a little messy and likes to party … Who feels herself but maybe also has a breakdown … is very honest, very blunt, a little bit volatile”.
Such a quick reaction from a young audience shows that young Americans thrived for change in the political field. Also Kamala HQ approved this flashmob and made their Twitter page background in green color and same font as Charlie’s XCX album cover, showing the connection with the young voters. Youth liked the fact that politician Kamala is paying attention to the trends and has a good sense of humor. Which encouraged more people to participate in a voting process.

I really liked your choice in meme because the first photo is funny in theory, but the Kamala Brat meme is creative and doesn’t offend or target anyone in specific. It helps by being a productive meme that doesn’t force anyone into believing anything, but instead places the most popular album of the summer on top of the candidate, making it funny and trendy.
I love this!! I agree that the younger generation have had a big impact on the recent election. The youth are super important for change.
I agree with the point that the lack of new, young faces in the presidential election turned off many potential voters from voting at all and that the new brat meme of Kamala Harris helped her connection with young voters.
