Story Idea: at lake. man finds a laptop. opens it up and finds ai. falls in love with the AI. he keeps coming back to visit the laptop, until one day, he finds himself turning into a robot. he throws the laptop into the lake and freaks out. final shot is walking away from the lake, as it pans to reveal the laptop sitting just on the shoreline.
Location: Sewell Park Lake. This locations supports my story as it is very isolated, and a place I know well. I think it would be very cinematic, and could be interesting to have a sort of ‘bottle episode’ video, that takes place majority in that one scene after it is entered.
This: The man
Changes: falls in love/turns into robot/falls out of love/realizes independence
Because: detaches himself from ai and technology
Why: this is a place I visit frequently, and the idea for the AI-overtake plot is because I realized that a lot of the times when I’m in this location alone, I end up spending more time on my phone than I do In nature. And although I don’t use AI, the basis of my last project from NMD200 gave me this Idea and I figured it would make for a good narrative
Two Examples:
-good building of suspense with minimal spoken dialogue
-good use of close up shots, within a closed location
-good sound design
this is a student example, but i like the eerieness of it, and its editing style
Good use of interesting shots and music.
Challenges:
I will need to get lucky and hope that when I go, there is no one else there.
I am anticipating going multiple times, incase there is someone there the first or second.
I basically get one chance per day, and I just need to pray that no one is there at least One Day.
