I found that this photo was able to have such an impact because of the visually pleasing aspects of it. The choice to make the subject uniform and clean, which contrasts the photographers ideas of waste. I think that, to a viewer, this photo does not come across as wasteful due to this stylistic choice, the subject is not necessarily objective as seen by its composition, which seems more curated. However the impact is still strong and the subject implies a sense of intimacy with the technology we use, which is subversive of the cultural norms that want us to see technology as a unlimited supply.
