After some brainstorming, I’d like to use the contrast of the constant development on campus against the stillness of nature to shed commentary on the fight between industry and the environment. This video could serve as a call to action for us to prioritize decisions that are good for both parties, as the easy life we live isn’t sustainable without the natural world. Attached is my revised 5 line story, story board, and test footage.
- Situation: I live in a place that’s on the threshold between civilization and nature. I really appreciate being this close so I can explore nature while being not too far from home.
- Desire: I yearn to capture and preserve this feeling of love that I have for this place. I want nature to play a more significant role in my life.
- Conflict: The world around me is constantly changing. The seasons shift and there’s more development pulling me away from the stillness I once felt. It gets hard to stay connected and mindful of the balance that we have with nature.
- Change: Through observation, awareness, and self reflection, I begin to see the environment with a heightened awareness. I understand that the change of seasons represents the adaptation of nature time and time again. This is something that we need to understand to live with nature in harmony. This also serves as a call to action to give a voice to the voiceless, mother nature.
- Result: By the end, I find a new sense of harmony between myself and the world around me. While the wind is a current for change, sometimes it can be good. I realize that I need to enjoy the various seasons and the uniqueness that they offer.
