Maybe a project where I talk about my environment in Orono and how it’s important to me.
Something I’m pulling from Princess Mononoke is how the forest spirit has a connection with the animals and environment around it where they both work to protect each other.
Something I’m pulling from Nausicaa is how she loved her home personally. The wind also plays a role as the symbolic winds of change bring forth seasons and technological development.
- Situation: I live in a place surrounded by the quiet natural essence of trees, wind, and light that feel deeply familiar. This place is a home that’s both personal and ecological. A crossroads between nature and my daily life.
- Desire: I yearn to capture and preserve this feeling of love that I have for this place. I want to show how caring for the environment is also an act of caring for myself and those around me.
- Conflict: The world around me is constantly changing. The seasons shift and there’s more development pulling me away from the stillness I once felt. It gets hard to stay connected and mindful of the balance that we have with nature.
- Change: Through observation, awareness, and self reflection, I begin to see the environment with a heightened awareness. I understand that the change of seasons represents the adaptation of nature time and time again. This is something that we need to understand to live with nature in harmony.
- Result: By the end, I find a new sense of harmony between myself and the world around me. While the wind is a current for change, sometimes it can be good. I realize that I need to enjoy the various seasons and the uniqueness that they offer.
Shooting would be best if I utilized those slow and grounded shots.
