I decided to recontextualize my images as some kind of bizarre fever dream.
They are now in a text-based adventure format that will be on my old Dreamhost domain. I put this together in Twine and spent far too long trying to wrangle the CSS into doing what I wanted; yet, I still cannot change the default font. Truly, I am doomed to the eternal struggle.
[EDIT: I have finally gotten the font to change. My eternal struggle has ended.]
I still haven’t applied the funky image filters this time around, as mentioned last post, I will apply them to the final version.
Not all areas are included in this build.
The following are attributable to this project.
Details and Textures: Here, I am utilizing compression to add texture, making the photos low-res and pixelated to give them a hazy, crunchy feeling.
Journey Structure: The photos are along a linear path the player takes. This path is not necessarily one that makes sense, owing to the story’s dream logic.
Tone: Fever Dream
Sequence Intentionally: The narrative features instances of the player being sent back to the beginning, allowing for new paths to be chosen.
Withhold and Reveal: Admittedly, I’m just withholding; there are no answers to be found in these places, only more questions.
