Project 1b – Zach Smith – Everything but the fish

This past spring, I decided to get back into fishing. I had fished when I was little, but the last time I went was pre-COVID, so I grabbed my old fishing rod and tackle box and went out. When I started out, it was early spring, still cold, which means the fish were still out in deep water and not feeding much. My first catch was a northern pike, which was actually huge, about 20 inches. My old fishing rod could barely handle it. I went out and got a new rod and reel and some plastic worms, and for most of the summer, I spent my free time on the water catching fish sometimes. What I found was that fishing, while it is partially about the fish, is more about being out in nature, taking it all in. I think Hank Hill said it best. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8ay-pVAdwo Those pictures are of what I saw while fishing, also over the summer, I worked at a rental car place. Lots of people fly in over the summer to go to Acadia or other parts of Maine, and won’t see much of what this place is all about.
