Project 1 Final – Marion Martin

Attached is my Project 1 Final on Canva – the embedding appeared off, so I wanted to maintain a clean look, and ended up with a hyperlink.

Reflection:

I found what worked best for me was to reflect on a previous story in my life, one that didn’t happen too long ago to maintain relevancy, but due to the nature of the story I was aiming to reflect/tell, I was unable to get into the field to focus on this with regard to photographs. My job itself relies on me to trip-lead and guide folks from all over, therefore the photography aspect when I am in that role, is limited. I felt that drawing on images from when I was sweep-guiding, worked best for me, and I have a slew of those.

I wanted to portray a vibrant scene, which is what I see when I am in the field, guiding or not. Things always look different, no matter how many times I am out on Katahdin, so to tie in a consistent color scheme of saturated greens and blues was important for me.

Outside of this, I feel I reflected a short story with added drama, though the dramatic effect was very real for me in the present day of the event.

Inspiration:

In Project 1C, I saw that Phoebe Ackor provided a different layout for each section she was storytelling through. I felt that I saw similarities in our projects through this format, though hers ranges around in different designs for her layouts, while mine bounces between filler posts and back-to-the-story posts.
