Assignment 1a – Jack Brooks

This is from a whale watch that I went on most recently in Bar Harbor.  It is important in my life because this is a place that I had a lot of fun this summer. It was the first time going out on a whale watch and I was able to see a lot of whales when I went. My mother is a naturalist as well so she was working the day I went out. I thought it was super cool to be able to see what she does for a living, and she had been encouraging me to come out on the whale watch for a while now.

This is from my home town of Blue Hill. This photo was taken right outside of the grocery store that I work at. It brings me memories of summer time and the feeling after it has rained very hard for a short amount of time. It also is important to me because of the memories that I made over the summer with my friends and co workers. As many people do, I miss the summer time come fall, and it reminds me of summer. The area also has shaped me as a person because I have been working there since I was 14 and it was my first job.

This photo is taken in Acadia National Park, and is important to me because of the hobbies that I had over the summer time that included a lot of hiking, and kayaking. As someone who really enjoys getting out and exploring the wilderness, this place reminds of the fun conversations with my friend. It also serves as a reminder during the dead of winter how green and full of life the woods are during the summer.
