Project 3d – Marion Martin

Project 3D

To push towards the end of my Project 3d, I found that I needed to focus clearly on two locations that have opened the most doors for me in my journey of cross country skiing, versus mapping out four locations in the Katahdin Region in which I love to ski at. While I wanted to promote those last two spaces and share them, there wasn’t as much significance to them as New England Outdoor Center and Penobscot River Trails. I provided the final two locations (Mount Chase Lodge and Katahdin WWNM) in the Map Piece as spaces to visit.

While wrapping this up, I added in more photos, and tied in how xc skiing has also opened the door for many things in my life including my career.

  1. I really enjoyed looking through this and seeing your investigation and experience of cross-country skiing.

I also liked how you liberally use large images all throughout the story, often having them fill the entire screen. I found that they worked well as separators and little “breaks” that you could take while scrolling. It gave me reason to scroll through it more slowly. I used mostly smaller images in mine to coexist with the story, but I’ll probably blow some of mine up to screen scale like yours to achieve that effect.

Secondly, I liked how you added links to other resources that allow further reading and exploration. There aren’t many opportunities for me to steal that from you, but I think I will use it to provide access to a free copy of the Don Quijote book my project is about.
