Project 3b – Frank Albert

I spent a while going back and forth between two ideas, but in the end I chose the one I knew I would enjoy the most. My StoryMap focuses on my trip to Mont Tremblant and what specifically makes this mountain special to me. Part of my goal is to highlight the aspects of Tremblant that stand out compared to ski resorts here in Maine. I’m starting with the beginning of my skiing journey—where I learned to ski, how it felt, and how I progressed over time to the larger mountains in Maine. From there, I’ll move into a map tour or sidecar that highlights some of my favorite parts of Tremblant and shows what Maine resorts could learn from the atmosphere, design, and experience this mountain offers.

For media, I’m using a mix of photos I took myself during my trip and images from online sources to fill in any gaps. The personal photos help keep the story grounded in my own experience, which is a big part of the tone I want. I’m also planning a map tour that highlights specific areas of Tremblant, such as the village, the lifts, and the mountain layout, and compares them to similar features at Maine resorts. As for challenges, I had a little trouble figuring out the best placement for my map tour so it supports the story rather than interrupting it. I’ve also had to balance the media I have with what I need to search for, making sure the visuals match the story I’m trying to tell.

This link is the same as my old sandbox link, just with an updated theme and changed key chapters and media. It is still a rough draft: https://arcg.is/1eunPO1
