For my project I plan on creating an interactive map of an Orono beer tour. This is interesting to me specifically because I work at a brewery in town. This is also topical as Maine has recently been found to be the state with the most breweries per capita.
I plan on marking 5-6 locations on this map, that will be fleshed out with photos taken by me, and possibly also media provided on the business social media/website. For the locations that are not breweries I plan on highlighting the Maine brewed beers that they offer. I will also be highlighting what makes each location unique and what they offer to the community.
In order to make this map into a story, I will frame it as an ordered tour. Each location will feature information on Maine beer/brewery culture as well as information specific to the business. For each location I will need to: visit the location, take photos, research online presence, and research their history. I will also need to conduct research on Maine beer culture and unique impacts these locations have on it. I will also research projects similar to the one I am creating in both format and content.
