Project 2C – Meghan Fay

Project 2C Video

  1. Situation : The scenes that I filmed represents the same location as my first project. The subject is soaking in the nature around her, and enjoying the peace away from a standard, busy day.
  2. Desire: The videos subject is watching the water, exploring the forest, and wanting a break from everyday life. She looks away from the camera to show how her back is turned to the urban setting behind her.
  3. Conflict: The overstimulating sounds and motion of an average day cannot compete with the beauty of Maine’s nature. The videos capture natural beauty that cannot be replicated anywhere else
  4. Change: The video starts off very peaceful, but becomes dramatic when the subject gets into frame. The music assists in bringing the videos tone to the next level.
  5. Result: There is a strong emotion evoked with the song choice, and it allows you to watch the video knowing how important being outside is. The main point of this video is to show people that they need to experience the setting around them outside.

  1. Lovely video footage, and the passage feels like it could support a story, but I dont see a story yet. See my suggestions.

While the song create mood, it actually interferes with my appreciation of the visuals–maybe sometime milder? maybe a related script?

Water sounds at beg are luscious, what can these build towards? Water gets pulled from leaves in fall and the cold also gives them color–does this natural process connect the water (river) to leaves? not sure–look for info from both nature and the walker–how doe she change from walking here? how can the story /change include her?

If you want to use spinning sky, it should be motivated by the story somehow–I dont’ see the link yet.

Also I might omit the road section at 1:00–it feels out of place with river and woods scenes–though railroad works for me.
