Project 2c – Marion Martin

For the third piece of my project, I ventured to Penobscot River Trails to shoot footage of “the local” who is willing to experience what this trail system has to offer. In this, my next step is to either add audio, or text over the footage.

The weather during shooting was not ideal at first, but then I really leaned into leveraging that to promote the colors in which “the local” main character finds beauty within the trail system.

  1. Well crafted video with clear progression through trail using biker as protagonist.

While this would make a fine ad for the Trail system, it might be even more fun if it was a bit more of a story–does this biker change at all during the ride? is there a way of hinting at this? Would it be awkward to hear a bit of interior monologue–not too much, maybe it’s funny or surprising? maybe it helps us see more of the experience. It may have to be very light touch…
For example, you give lots of history in the post, that is absent in the video–what do you want audience to know about one person’s lived experience? about history? about conservation?

At first i thought the colors were a bit dull & muted, but the red leaves really pop at the end, and the natural feel works better than over saturating I think.

Strong piece, might benefit from some minor tweaks to a duplicate version (retaining original)
