Music pulls me in. I like the reverse reveal at the beginning, but the cut to trees feels sudden. Is that a blind up in the trees? parallel hunting to fishing?
It does take awhile to get to the fishing…but the walk across bridge is a good establishing shot. Then a great railroad low angle
How is the rock graffiti part of this fishing story–i’m curious?

I like that the sun goes down suggesting time passing
I dont see any fish at the end…
I dont think you need a heavy handed script, but a few unexpected lines that open up some mysteries, or suggest how this event changes the fisherman overtime? maybe it’s a kind of low level stream of consciousness that isn’t even about fishing? can be subtle, like it may not matter if there’s no fish, right? eg maybe his best friend just moved to another country & he’s low key grieving…
