Place is central to both Princess Mononoke and Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind because the landscapes are not just backdrops, but a character within the story that effects he characters, conflicts, and themes. In Princess Mononoke, the forests embody the tension between human industry and the natural world, every choice the characters make is influenced by the sacredness, beauty, and fragility of the land. The people of iron town see no issue in running the surroundings if it helps support their progress. The spirts of the forest value the land and want to protect the natural landscape at all costs. Similarly, in Nausicaä, the toxic jungle and the Valley of the Wind drive the story forward, reflecting both the dangers of unchecked human exploitation and the possibility of harmony when people learn to coexist with nature. In both films, place symbolizes the deep interconnection between environment and humanity, reminding us that the survival of one depends on respect for the other.

Each of these edits have dynamic transitions, great colors, and a high level of editing. My end video aims to emulate parts of each of these, incorporating different aspects while adding my own touch.
- situation – whats the starting point
- desire – what does the character want

- change – what happens that shifts something
- result – how does it end
