Reflection
When reflecting on this assignment, I think there are things that I did well and other things not so well. I believe that my photos and videos are pretty strong when it comes to telling a story. I think that adding names to each photo helped improve and add to the feeling within the photos. Taking a few moments to crop and color each photo enhanced them, and helped show what I was truly seeing in that moment. I think the only thing I should have changed is the angle of some of the photos. For example, I think if I had shown the stone path looking down at the cliff that I actually saw, or the few loose rocks that sat in the path as I walked up it would help the reader imagine what I was talking about a little more.
There are a few things that I believe I missed and need to work on more. Creating a website that expanded the image as you scrolled would’ve added movement to the website, similar to some of my classmates and my professors website. I also believe that captions needed a little more improvement. I had a hard time of conveying what I was actually feeling and seeing into words. That being said I tried my best in the end to take the first step.
I was inspired by a few other websites and decided to add what they had into mine from our in class assignment. The first idea that I implemented into my website were photos from the history books. I added a photo of George B. Dorr, a key person in restoring the park, and a photo of park. I also added little graphics like another classmate of mine, like the National Park Logo and the outline of a mountain range under a quote. I truly think that both added a little history and design to my project.
