Project 1B – Gavin Pierce

Whenever I think of a spot in the Orono area that is beautiful the first thought is the Littlefield Garden which first began at Umaine in the early 60s and has slowly grown to the most pretty landscape and environment on campus. Outside of the shallow reasons to like the location it was the first place me and my girlfriend had a date. Our first date consisted of ice skating which looking back was not the best idea if I was trying to impress her because all it did was lead to plenty of black and blues on my rear end. Whilst the date left me in disarray I learned a lot about her and it felt amazing to talk to her and gave me the idea to get her Thai food if we were to have another date because of how she talked about her love of it. We still love to go to the area as it is just as pretty in the fall as it is in the winter and I tried to capture that with these images.

  1. Such a beautiful place and story to accompany it! I especially love the image of the stone path. It draws your eyes right into the photo.
