Project 1a – Grace Cesarini

Sachuest Point Wildlife Refuge is a spot I’ve been going to for years. It’s only about ten minutes from my house, so it’s always been an easy and fun place to go. Since it’s open all year round, I’ve seen it change with the seasons and the crazy weather.

In the summer it’s very lively with people, animals and greenery. In the winter it’s very quiet and but still beautiful. There are fishermen that go year round too! Sunrises and sunsets are always worth the trip, since it overlooks both the water and fields.

I usually go with friends, sometimes just for a quick walk, other times we’ll stay out there longer. We go for a huge variety of reasons, whether its just to go for a stroll to get outside, to walk and eat ice cream, and also a spot we’ve taken up talking about tougher stuff too. It’s turned into all of my friends go-to spots for everything.

There’s always something new to see! There are deer everywhere, so many different kinds of birds and creatures, every once in a while you’ll come across a snake on the trail. It makes the walk interesting every time.

It’s simple and nothing crazy, but I’ve made a lot of great memories (and pictures!) there while also being able to enjoy just getting outside.
