Project 1A – Keenan Campbell

This is a photo of the porch of my Fraternity Home. I’ve met about 90% of my friends at college on this porch and I’ve spent countless hours with those same people here. This is the living room where, if I ever find myself bored, if I sit down for about twenty minutes, somebody […]

(a capture of the sun through the trees, on campus) For my beginning photo, I wanted to make this about places that feel like movement from one to the next. Though this photo isn’t the most transformative, it was one I took while moving through the woods on campus. I found the glimpse of light […]

Doubletop Mountain in Baxter State Park, draped in fresh snowfall. A unique perspective from a remote location only accessible in the winter season by snowmobile or XC skis. A challenging mountain, yet so rewarding. Viewing this in the winter is nearly impossible unless you’re able to get into the backcountry with navigation. Driving home from […]

First Story Location These photos were taken in the neighborhood right beside where I grew up, Bayside. Being from just outside the neighborhood, I never felt intertwined with the community; I felt like an outsider. And so instead of hanging out with the neighborhood kids during the day, I would walk around at night. It […]

Photos of two dogs. The left is Lucy, a golden retriever, and the right is Luna, an Australian shepherd. Lucy is 12 years old, and Luna is 6. Two chickens facing off to the left. These are different chickens from the ones that lived while I ran through the wood paths. A mound […]

These pictures were all taken in the same location, but each one tells a different story and carries a different mood. The first picture captured a mother and child enjoying the evening, but for me, I was there with a few of my friends. This was a week before school started, and we […]

Recently I went on a walk with my mom to look for river otters, while on the way to the pond where we hoped the otters would be we passed the area shown in the photographs above and they reminded me of some odd dreams I had when I was little. The place shown in the photographs above were uncannily similar to places in dreams I had about the apocalypse when I was younger, resembling society taken over by nature once again, little to no signs of human life and remnants of what once was.

Two places that stand out to me when I think about the memories I’ve made during college

My first two photos were taken on my trip from Padang, Indonesia. These were from my first days there; this was my first time out of the country, so the places I visited there changed my perspective completely. I was able to experience a different culture and see the difference in ours. My second […]

The first set of images I’ve chose is two of my favorite photos from the University of Maine. The first photo is of the Aurora Lights. My friend and I were driving home from Bangor last fall when the sky lit up with these lights. We couldn’t believe what we were seeing, this prompted […]
