Task 9-Sadie Avellar

BEFORE

As she stood there, staring into Wyatt’s eyes, something shifted within her. The anger and resentment that had consumed her for so long began to give way to something else, maybe forgiveness. It was a small, fragile seed planted deep within her heart, but it was there. With a heavy sign, Jordan tore her gaze away from Wyatt’s and continued down the hallway, her footsteps echoing in the empty hallway. She’ll figure out the reason her father was executed, why her best friend betrayed her, and she will have to do it alone.

AFTER

“I know this might not be the best time,” the guard continued, his voice hesitant, “but if you ever need someone to talk to or need any help, I’m here. My name’s Rico.”

Jordan stared at him for a moment, weighing his offer carefully. She knew she couldn’t trust him, not after what had happened with Wyatt, but there was something about Rico’s sincerity that touched her heart.

“Thank you, Rico,” she said finally, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips. “I appreciate it.”

With that, Jordan turned and continued down the corridor. She may not have all the answers yet, and maybe this is way over her head, but she knew that she would not rest until she uncovered the secret her father was killed for knowing. Maybe she did need help after all…..

In these two scenes you can see the growth in Jordan’s character. In the start she didn’t want any help, but if she wants to uncover the truth she has realized that maybe a little help wouldn’t hurt.
