The conflict scene for my story takes place when the group learns the secret on how to defeat the robot invasion. As the group is camping out in the city, they hear ships being released from the main ship. “That’s odd, the noise from the ships seems to be coming in our direction, they haven’t sent ships to the city in ages, there’s like no one here,” noted Vik. Kali climbed up above their settlement. “It looks like a pod is being followed by some fighter ships, they’re shooting at it” he said. “Could it be an escape pod? That’s odd, I didn’t know they kept prisoners,” thought Bitoku. The fighter ships shots connected with the pod and the pod went down in a heap of flames not to far from where the group was camping. “C’mon, lets check it out,” said Bitoku. They traveled a few blocks down to where the pod had crashed. The pod was stuck in the base of a tall building, with the fire having died down. Bob looked in the window. “The hell, its one of those fuckers.” Bitoku peered in. “No, this one is different.” The pod’s occupant was a robot, who wasn’t in the greatest of shapes from the crash. However, this robot was not the typical attack robots the group had encountered. It was a lot more advanced, hardly looking like a robot, and more like a human. “It doesn’t look armed, help it out and we’ll question it,” Bitoku declares. Bob opens the pod and lifts the robot out, placing it against the pod. The robot, who was struggling to remain conscious, stirred and stared at the humans looming over him. “you’re not exactly like the others, what are you?” asked Bitoku. The robot chuckled, “don’t compare me to those abominations,” said the robot. “I am a manufacturing bot, one of the original races on our planet.” “You guys have a planet?” asked Kali. “Yes, we were from another dimension, a war ridden one. Our planet was neutral, with our purpose being to supply the war. The war ended up decimating our reality, and planet was sucked through to a different reality.” “which is ours, bloody brilliant, now we have to deal with an entire planet on top of a ship” said Bob. “Ha, you’d be fortunate if it had,” replied the robot. “The planet was sent to another dimension, but some rogue ships were sent to multiple dimensions, including this one. The robots manning them are glitched, a bad program, and when we tried to recover them, they fled, and multiplied. They are taken over by their destructive nature, as they were made for the dark lord of the war, the on who sought to and ended up destroying the dimension. I was taken prisoner by them while I was trying to stop them.” “How do we stop them? Asked Bitoku. “The technology these robots posses is far beyond your own, and gives them the ability to quickly create and repair more robots and weapons. However my planet possesses even greater technology, and has the ability to put a stop to this bad batch. The only issue is the location, since there were multiple ships that traveled to countless dimensions with no way of tracking them. Your only way to defeat them is to send a distress signal on the ship’s main controls. That’s what I was trying to do after I escaped my cell, but it was heavily guarded, and I was forced to flee.” replied the robot. “Well then, let’s get on that ship and put a stop to this, save the world while we can,” said Bitoku. “No, we can’t, it’s to risky,” said Malgrum. “We’ve been doing fine, we’re alive, we’re happy, they’re is no point in risking all of that, or any of us.” “We have the knowledge and the strength, it’s our duty to,” replied Bitoku. “To hell with duty, what do we owe the rest of the world. They can fend for themselves just as I always have,” Malgrum rebutted. “But the world has had your back, look at us for example, we were just normal people that helped a stranger who needed it, you’ve always had others,” argued Bitoku. “How do you know, you have no idea what I’ve been through, what I’ve done. I lost everything and lived in agony by myself, for years, and here I am!” Yelled Malgrum. Bitoku looked at him, concerned. “you never mentioned that before, how so?” He asked. Malgrum thought long and hard. “I don’t know why I said that, it just came out, it was a feeling I had I guess.” The robot stared at Malgrum. “Wait, you look familiar,” it said. The group looked at the robot, stunned. “How!?” asked Bitoku. The robot kept staring, and finally said “I swear, he looks like the dark lord of my past world, which is kind of ironic because the batch attacking you was on his order.” Ryla piped up, asking “Did he have a name, other than his title?” “Yes, but very few knew it, only the elite orc’s closest to him, and you would be lucky if you never came across one of them, they were nasty.” Bitoku looked at Malgrum, “do you think that figure in your dream, the dark lord or whatever, is you?” He asked. Malgrum, stunned, replied. “It can’t be, I’m nothing like him. When I was next to him in my dream, what I felt radiating off of him was indescribable. It was an immense amount of pain, sorrow, loss, and rage.” “Well yeah, that sounds like him, turns out he lost his world to the creator of our own. His entire existence in ours was merely for it’s destruction, whether it be revenge or served a purpose I do not know.” the robot chimed in. Bitoku looked at Malgrum, sternly. “If you are different from him save this world, act now. If you are in fact that being, then save your world while you can, I know you may fear loss, but it may come if we don’t face it anyways. We need you, you’re the strongest of us.” Malgrum looked back and forth between everyone in the group. They all looked ready to take on this challenge, although Ryla looked weary. “Well, I guess I’m outnumbered, fine, let’s end this.”
