I plan on picking up my story from last semester, the one with the man with no memory and a robot invasion. Last semester I was able to create the beginning of the story, where it set up everything, whereas this semester will start out with the first day of the robot invasion. Key events that will happen will be the allies coming together in the beginning, their initial plan on how to survive, learning how to stop it, and then the climax, which is executing the plan to stop the invasion.
The main character is a man named Malgrum. He has no memory of his past life but gets flashbacks as the story goes on. He is a quiet, layed-back, independent individual, which goes on to his lie. His lie is that he believes that he is not important, and doesn’t have an impact on the world or anything, but as the story goes on he realizes that this is the exact opposite, and that he is the most important person with the most impact on the world, and other individuals in the story. Malgrum’s want is finding out his past, and who he was, however the need of the story takes over this, as the need is surviving and overcoming the robot invasion. Lastly, his ghost consists of many events of his past, which he slowly remembers and is haunted and confused by. His personality at the start of the story has him view himself as insignificant and non confrontational. However, he learns that in his past, he was quite the opposite, as he was a supernatural being that waged a war on a civilization, trying and in the end wiping them out. It also goes even further back, as beforehand his own civilization was wiped out, which made him lose his friends, family, and his significant other.
The main setting of the story is based in Japan, specifically on the outskirts of Tokyo. This is the setting because of the Japanese culture, as it is a culture where people help each other and respect each other, which is essential for the characters getting together to survive. American based apocalyptic movies show a lot of negative interactions between struggling humans, so having a society where it is more likely to show positive interactions between humans is different, and gives it a simpler common enemy. The location outside of Tokyo is to give the story a mix of a settled, cozy home, and then have the contrast to a busy, interactive city, which offers the characters more resources when it comes to surviving, as well as depicting the different impacts the invasion would have.
