Task – 10 Fox Gleason

Here is the Climax of the story. I created it to really drive a sense of suspense and unease in the reader

Calvin finds himself wandering the mass of hallways in the complex. The concrete walls, tiled floor, and sterile air was all he saw for what felt like hours. However, just as he was starting to think he was walking in circles, an unpleasant smell filled Calvin’s nostrils. He comes across a multiple rooms, each room seemly containing at least two dozen jail cells. Some packed with prisoners and others completely empty. Most disturbing of all though, Calvin could’ve sworn he saw motionless bodies in some of the cells as well. Either them being asleep, unconscious, or dead he wasn’t sure. Part of Calvin’s mind told him to go ask the prisoners about his comrades, though he quickly shut that idea down, fearing that could just as easily get himself caught.

Now past the jail cells, Calvin found himself in a corridor of windows, each one seemly peering into a square featureless room, aside from a patients chair in the middle of the room. Calvin’s eyes widen when he realizes that its the same setup from the dream he had. Venturing further, he picked up faint chanting further down the corridor.

As he drew closer, the chanting stops. Calvin peeks into the room, its complete replication of every other room he’s seen in the corridor. Thats where the similarities end however, He lays his eyes on 3 cloaked figures surrounding the chair in the center of the room. An orange clothed prisoner lies on the chair, their eyes completely glazed over like marbles. Calvin’s legs start moving on their own, running through the halls. He’s unable to comprehend what he just saw, His dream seemingly coming to life was more than just weird, worse than that though, he could only assume that they were brainwashing prisoners, for what purpose though?
