The basic idea of my story follows an evil train that splits a valley in two. I’m going to kind of use the same location as my last project, the flood plains, because the train tracks are right next to it. I may also use some other locations close by because there are cool places along the tracks. For my “this, changes, because” I am going to explore how the land changes due to the train, also if I can get some videos of animals I might see if I can implement that into the video. A models I found that inspired me was “We Were The Scenery” by Christopher Radcliff, which is a short documentary about a couple who fled Vietnam during the war and arrive at a refugee camp in the Philippines were they become film extras in “Apocalypse Now”. As I was watching it really liked how the camera quality would change to represent past and present, something I might be able to utilize in my video. Maybe there is a before the train segment and an after the train segment where I change some of the aspects of the camera. For challenges I am a little worried that I might not be able to find a lot of variation in my shots, but I think I am going to really try to find some unique spots or angles that will make up for it.<\/p>\n

Models: La Deuxieme Nuit, https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=01omG2aJdM4 – I liked this film because its simple but effective, the long still shots of scenes meaningful to the director, paired with the poetic lines of dialogue tell such a powerful and beautiful story, which is something I want to try to utilize in my video. https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=wh9V4XA8lTo – I am also going to utilize some of the things I mentioned from the short film I watched last week “We Were the Scenery”, specifically I liked the use of different cameras to show a change in time, from the past to the present. Something I want to try by using my digital camera and phone camera in my video.<\/p>\n
