I chose locations that were either next to the Stillwater River in Orono or on MDI by the coast. Within my story, I compared and contrasted images between the two locations with text that described similar phenomena, but highlighted the difference in occurrence between the two locations.<\/p>\n<p>When creating this project, I let the photos I already had lead the story. I found a way to work in the most compelling images, but if I were to redo this project I would take photos at each location with direct intentions to compare them against one another. For example, I really liked how the photos I have of the rocks are framed similarly, but I don&#8217;t like how different the images of the flowers are. The flowers are so different because I only had access to the photos I had taken previously on MDI, and I would have preferred to go out an take photos with the framing of the story as a whole in mind. I ran into issues with Shorthand where my descriptions at the beginning and end were not updating\/displaying correctly so I removed them, but in the future I would ensure that they were acting how I intended.<\/p>\n<p>I looked at Jack&#8217;s project and saw how he approached representing Acadia through images. I thought that he did a really good job at selecting images that represented the environment, so I drew inspiration from that in choosing my selection of images.
