What I Saw and What I Missed:<\/strong><\/p>\n

While I was doing this assignment, I found myself stuck with developing a story and had no idea which path I wanted to go down with my photos. My original photos were of random moments on my walk that I found interesting, but they were not coherent, and lacked a lot of deeper meaning. I struggled with finding ways to take better photos, and that is when I decided to use different camera settings. I used portrait mode, turned down saturation, made minor edits in the camera app, to make the photos look more professional and intentional. The second time I went out to take photos, I chose a subject to focus on, and really tried to make sure I incorporated the rule of thirds into my photos. Once I had the second group of photos done, I felt a story forming, which almost helped me with my photography techniques. I chose filters to help build my story, and emphasize the important parts of each photo<\/p>\n

When developing my story, I was trying to find a balance between a set of photos with and without my subject. My roommate was more than willing to visit the same spots that I took my last photos in, and we talked about what we could build off of these new photos. I already feel nostalgic for my experiences here at school, and I wanted to embody that with my photos. The warm weather is fading, and I won’t get another chance at enjoying an Orono summer, so I took those emotions and built a story about it. I wanted to show how important it was to explore your surroundings, and to take in as much as you can while you still have it.<\/p>\n

Some notes that I had received about my photos were typically to try and get more obscure and interesting angles, and to make the story more focused on one subject. I like the direction that I took with my story, and want to continue making meaningful and emotional stories to commemorate my time here.<\/p>\n
