This is a picture in front of one of the banks in Bar Harbor, where a visitor was showing off his red-and-green macaws from what I assume was some kind of educational presentation. Bar Harbor is full of surprises when tourist season is in full swing – in every plaza, around every corner, there’s something interesting going on. I love walking through town to shop, because I know I’ll run into something random and cool, whether that’s a busker banging out some tunes on a guitar or local artists selling their creations in popup booths.<\/p>\n

This is a scenic shot from the top floor of the new Eden building at Bluenose Inn, where I’ve worked for a few summers with my mom. I’ve always loved looking out at the ocean on MDI. Those silvery clouds and the mini islands fading into the distance make it look like a Renaissance painting to me. Looking at all the nature that surrounds the town of Bar Harbor, from the fire bushes that turn hot-pink in the fall to the orange hawkweed flowers that poke up from the soil by the roads in late summer, provides plenty of inspiration for creative types like me.<\/p>\n

I took this photo from the living room at my dad’s house; we usually have a few interesting birds hanging out in our yard, and we like to watch their antics when there’s not much else to do. Besides ducks, we have plenty of owls, a few hawks, and there used to be a few guinea hens that liked hanging out by our garage.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
